Captain Emmett was awesome!! We surprised my mom with tickets for her birthday and she described it as “wonderful swamp fun” (direct quote). He answered every question, was full of jokes and information for the whole trip. 10/10 would recommend and the tour. We were picked up by Derek and he gave us a great intro to the area and where to go in the city. Dustin took us out on a small boat tour which was worth the extra cost. Less people, better dialogue. Highly recommend the tour to anyone. They don’t feed marshmallows too which is much better for the wildlife!
We did the VIP and its was AMAZING. We seen over 20 alligators, a “lesser” heron, an osprey, several raccoons, they were also best friends with our tour guide, Michael!! We had fun and great conversation the whole time. A balance of fun, calm, peace and exciting all in one.!
I picked this company based on reviews, and now I can add mine. This was a great tour. I did the VIP tour with Emmet and it was worth every penny. I imagined the swamp would be cool, but I didn’t imagine how beautiful it would be. Emmet was funny and extremely knowledgeable about the whole ecosystem. His love for the swamp came through. We saw both young alligators and adult ones along with other animals, birds, and cool plants. I’m so glad I went! Our bus driver Trevon the Extraordinary (not sure of exact name) was also great and told us a lot of things I didn’t know about on our way there and back. I highly recommend taking the tours offered by Cajun Encounters.
Rashits was the best driver. Friendly, well spoken and interesting commentary throughout bus rides. The vip small boat swamp tour was the way to go. Out guide funny as hell and so informative. Stopped for every creature we saw. Including baby and big alligators, huge Crane bird, baby turle we got to hold, raccoons galore and family if pigs. So worth the money. Would recommend in a minute.
We had a great time on the VIP swamp tour. I liked that it was a smaller boat. We saw a lot of alligators, racoons, birds, and turtles. Capt Lane was amazing. The alligators come right up to the side of the boat, but they aren't aggressive.
We took the VIP tour with Captain Steve. He was so knowledgeable and pleasant to listen to. I loved all his history and he made us laugh so much. I would highly recommend paying the extra and taking the smaller tour because it was more personable.
